The seed of the idea that became Restaurant Reserve (use this name temporally) was planted in late 2006 when I traveled to China for a visit. One day my relatives and I went out for dinner. It was a long line and we need to wait for almost an hour to get a table. I began to think if we can reserve a table and order the dishes we like ahead of time, by the time we go to the restaurant, we just sit down and enjoy the meal. The turn over time would be much faster. The restaurant could serve more customers and the owner can generate more incomes. Also there are lots of foreigners in China and they don’t read Chinese, if the manual has an English translation that would be much easier for them to order foods. In 2008, Beijing will be hosting the Summer Olympic Game; In 2009, Shanghai will be the host of the World Expo; In 2010, GuangZhou is going to have the Asian Game. By that time there will be even more foreigners traveling to China. Many people do like Chinese food. So I think if there is a website that do Restaurant Reservation and the manual has English translation, that would be great for the customer and also the restaurant owners. And that's how I got the idea and want to create a website to do just this.
